Hi Vicki, I found my here from Nigel Lendon’s post on Transit Lane. I used to work for Nigel and now work with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation here in Canberra.
I am meeting people passionate about these issues all the time and would love to register my interest to take part, if it’s not too late.
Wonderful project, and really beautiful objects – the oregano is my favourite of course, as a culinary plant!
Hey Zoe, Do you grow oregano at work? … and do you want to tell us a little bit about what you do all day (at work) as a start, I’d love to know as Im sure others would too. Feel free to contribute anything Zoe, any time, hopefully if people embrace the project it will never be to late to contribute..
Im about to pick all the lemons off my lemon tree today, take some round to the local shop in a bag with’ free’ written on it and leave it outside.. then Ill be coming home and cutting out the wasp galls from it… they just won’t go away. Hope to hear back from you.Vicki
Yes, grow it at home and work. I don’t run the garden (at Majura Primary in Watson), it’s run by garden specialist Rik. The school fete is on 11 September, and there will be tours running.
I look after about 20 schools that are building kitchens and food gardens in the SA program, working with them to get it all up and running, and then continue smoothly. So I often spend quite a bit of my day on the phone
I’ve almost finished the last of the preserved lemons made with a neighbour’s fruit – such a lovely way to share and build community.
